How can I have my child evaluated for Early Intervention Services?

Parents may request an evaluation if they feel that their child may have a developmental delay and is in need of services.

For children under three years of age in all of Allegheny County (including the city of Pittsburgh), call the Alliance for Infants and Toddlers at 412-885-6000.

For children three years old until kindergarten age, City of Pittsburgh and Mt. Oliver residents may call the Pittsburgh Public Schools Early Intervention office at 412-323-3960.

For children three years old until kindergarten age, Allegheny County residents outside of Pittsburgh/Mt. Oliver may call the Allegheny Intermediate Unit/DART at 412-394-5941.

Who is involved in the Pittsburgh / Allegheny County LICC?

Parents and family members of young children
Representatives from the agencies that are responsible for funding and providing services to young children who are not yet school age such as:
Representatives from Allegheny County MH/MR programs, serving children from birth to the age of three
Representatives from Pittsburgh Public Schools and Allegheny Intermediate Unit (DART) serving children in preschool programs, from age three to five years of age
Allegheny County Health Department
Representatives from other agencies that serve young children and their families
